IWHRC Formed
Indigenous Women’s Health Research Coalition forms to help inform a Women’s health strategy that responds to the context of First Nations, Métis and Inuit women, families, and communities.
March 24-25, 2026
National Womens’ Health Summit
A National Women’s Health Summit was hosted by the Women’s Health Collective Canada (WHCC).
February 25-26, 2026
Day on the Hill
Day on the Hill with over 250 advocates gathered on Parliament Hill.
February 5, 2026
Leading Beyond the Gap
“Leading Beyond the GAP: Closing the Women’s Health Gap in Canada: A Blueprint for Action” report is published by Women’s Health Collective Canada (WHCC) with support from McKinsey & Company Canada.
January 2026
NAtional Framework for Women’s Health
A website is launched National Framework for Women’s Health: Building a Stronger Future for Women’s Health in Canada to garner support for Bill S-243 – a national framework for women’s health in Canada with links to social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. It is later folded into the website of the Women’s Health Coalition of Canada.
December 9, 2025
Bill S-243 Tabled
On December 9, 2025 Senator Daniele Henkel tabled Bill S-243 – An Act to establish a national framework for women’s health in Canada tabled in the Senate.
2023
Institute of Gender and Health
the Canadian government allocated $20 million to the Institute of Gender and Health to fund 10 hubs at $840,000 each over 4 years, and in 2024, funded up to $1.2 million over 3 years.
January 2021
WHCC Formed
Women’s Health Collective Canada (WHCC) is formed as a strategic alliance between BC Women’s Health Foundation (Vancouver), Alberta Women’s Health Foundation (Edmonton), and Women’s College Hospital Foundation (Toronto).
